Hike to Darby's Cave
Hike to Darby's Cave
Join fellow SeaDreamers on this amazing hike to Darby’s Cave and explore the largest cave on the island at 70 feet deep, with an interior ecosystem supporting 50-foot palmetto palms, bats, birds, and frogs.
From the pier, you will board the transportation with a knowledgeable local guide for the approximately 20-minute drive to the cave. The guide will point out the interesting trees, plants, and fauna. There are numerous bird species, some indigenous only to Antigua & Barbuda. A must on this excursion is to go down in the sinkhole and explore the rainforest type ecosystem. Keep a look out for the many iguanas, hermit crabs, land turtles, and deer that live here.
Afterwards, transportation will be waiting to take you to the jetty for your return tender back to your yacht.
Notes: Tourism in Barbuda is in its infancy and you will see there is tremendous development throughout the island. We strongly recommend you take advantage of one of the excursions to get the most out of your call to Barbuda. Please wear adequate sun protection, a hat and comfortable walking shoes. And don’t forget your camera for those memorable shots!! Be sure to also bring plenty of water with you from the yacht to keep hydrated.
